Inspired by ancient civilisations such as Rome and Greece, this project explores the creation of a fully procedural mosaic material in Substance Designer. The central motif is generated from a custom input image — in this case, a Lovecraft‑esque sea monster illustration I painted specifically for the material.
The surrounding trim sheets were built as modular, repeatable patterns, also created procedurally in Designer. To showcase the materials in context, I assembled a small environment and tested them under varied lighting conditions. This helped highlight the subtle details, colour variation, and surface qualities embedded in the textures.
